w-inds. to Promote Hepatitis Awarness

Published on August 29, 2012, by in news.

(rough translation: Know About Hepatitis Project)

w-inds. has joined forces as “Special Supporters” of a campaign aimed at spreading awareness regarding Hepatitis and encouraging people to get checked for the virus.

According to the data, as many as 1 in every 12 people have the virus. Without being tested, those people have the potential to spread Hepatitis to their loved ones. People who have Hepatitis also may develop further complications down the road such as cirrhosis of the liver and liver cancer.

As supporters of this campaign, w-inds. encourages not only us to get screened for the virus, but to ask our loved ones to get screened as well.

“Let’s aim to prevent the spread of Hepatitis together.”

MOVE LIKE THIS Tour – Thank you!

The Japanese leg of w-inds.’ 2012 summer live tour has drawn to a close. Even though the tour lasted only around 40 days, a lot of things happened. We were able to meet so many people and because of that, we made a lot of unforgettable memories.

Prior to the start of the tour, a lot of fans banded together to say that they wanted w-inds. to come to their countries to do a show. It was also to celebrate the second anniversary of w-inds. worldwide. We would like to yet again extend our thanks to the participants of this project.

A bunch of fans from around the world pitched in to send flowers to w-inds to congratulate them on their first show. You can read more about the participants of this flower project and from which countries the donations came here.

We also gathered over 100 postcards from fans all around the globe which contained messages of support for w-inds. These postcards were put in the present box on the first day of the tour. We were very pleasantly surprised by the number of cards we got this year compared to similar projects in the past. Feel free to browse the postcards below.

But, for us, the best part of this tour was being able to meet and make friends with so many of you that came to see w-inds. from Asia, Europe, and the Americas. We even got word that a fan from Iceland made it to the shows this year, too.

The last project we kicked off this summer was a map project showing exactly where w-inds. fans are coming from around the world. This project has no end because new w-inds. fans are born every day. Be sure to put in a marker to represent yourself and your fellow w-inds. fans by following the directions here.

Thanks to all of you guys for making this summer really great! And congrats to Hong Kong fans for getting a chance to see MOVE LIKE THIS on your own turf. To all the people that came to this show from abroad, we’d love to hear what you thought of move like this in the comments below!

And for all the fans who are still patiently waiting for your chance to see w-inds., your time will surely come.

Buying Tickets: A Warning Against Using Auction Sites

Published on August 11, 2012, by in concerts, tickets.

Recently there’s been a global crackdown on the use of auction sites for selling tickets. Venues have started to shut down seats found listed on sites like Yahoo! Auctions and have even gone as far as removing people from concerts who are found to be holding tickets bought through such means. This practice has made its way to Japan and we’re writing this in an effort to dissuade anyone who might be tempted to throw a lot of money at a seller for what looks to be a good seat. We understand how frustrating this can be since most foreign fans have to plan their trips well in advance. Using auction sites seems like a sure way to get a ticket, but you don’t want to be the person that travels such a long way just to be kicked out of the show and have the money you spent be wasted.

How can we get a ticket if we can’t join w-inds.day from abroad?

That’s a frequently asked question, and a very good point. Unless you have a permanent address in Japan, you can’t join w-inds.day. There are most likely a lot of legal reasons for this, and some people get around this by joining the fan club through third party services like Celga, but these services are often costly and have at times proven unreliable to some of our w-inds. fan friends around the world.

If your reason for coming to Japan doesn’t revolve around w-inds. and you’re willing to take a risk about getting a ticket, there are few ways to go about getting a ticket.

Go to the concert venue on the day of the show and ask if they still have tickets available. For whatever reason, venues seem to have a few open seats even after sales have closed. If you go early and ask, they’ll tell you whether or not they have any tickets left over and most likely they’ll put you on the list. We’ve had a lot of good experiences with this method, and the venue staff seem to be very considerate of people who have traveled a long way. It’s worth a try!

Buy tickets from the convenience store. In the future, we’d like to make a more detailed tutorial about how to do this, but usually you can search for w-inds. under ういんず in machines like Loppi at Lawson or FamiPort at Family mart. If you need more detailed directions about how to do this, you can always send us an e-mail.

Stand outside the concert venue with a sign. Very often Japanese fans looking for tickets to a show are seen outside of the concert venue holding signs that say “チケット譲ってください” , meaning something like “Please give me a ticket”. This method has worked well for some in the past, but be careful of scalpers who might approach you and try to sell you a ticket for a lot of money.

If you’d like to find a ticket before you get to Japan, send us an e-mail! We’re more than happy to help you apply for tickets during ticket lottery season, and even if you missed it, we have a large network of Japanese fan friends who might have tickets they can’t use. We are no strangers to making 2am convenience store runs to get tickets for fans, and we can even send the tickets to your hotel.

Will any of these methods guarantee you a first row seat? Absolutely not, but they can at least get you a seat. We’d rather fans be able to just have the pleasure of enjoying a w-inds. show without the possibility of getting in trouble.

We hope this information is helpful and, as always, feel free to ask us any questions you might have!

w-inds. Live Tour 2012 MOVE LIKE THIS Goods Order!

Published on July 10, 2012, by in goods.

Vision Factory has just announced goods for MOVE LIKE THIS! As always, w-inds. worldwide will be doing a goods sale.

  • We will be picking the goods up at one of the Kansai area shows in the beginning of August.
  • Available payment methods are PayPal and Japanese bank transfer. If you have a Japanese bank account, please let us know and we can provide you with our bank information. For all others, we will give you Paypal information. We’re very sorry, but we will not accept cash through the mail or Western Unions.
  • Shipping will be determined after goods have been bought. It is impossible for us to estimate how much things will weigh or cost to ship to other countries; we will take your goods to our post office to get estimates after we buy them.
  • We will try our best to get goods sent out as quickly as possible, but please understand that there may be a delay due to our work schedules, inclinment weather (we’d hate your stuff to get wet on the way to the post office!) and/or the Obon holiday that falls in mid-August in Japan.
  • Your total price will be the cost of the goods plus a 10% fee; this 10% fee does not go to our pockets, but is used for things like coin lockers (we can’t bring such huge bags of goods into the venue, after all!), shipping materials, etc.
  • To give us the time for payments to be transferred into our bank account from Paypal, payments will be due by August 1, 2012. If you are paying by bank transfer, we can negotiate further, but we’d hate to be unable to buy your goods due to having insufficient time for the transfer.
  • If more goods become available as the Kansai shows approach, feel free to contact us to change your order.

After reading the rules, please send us the following to goods@windsworldwide.com:

  1. A list of what you’d like and quanities/sizes/colors if appropriate
  2. Your payment method (Paypal or Japanese bank transfer)
  3. Your full name and address. This is where we will calculate shipping to, so if you are going to be moving mid-August, keep that in mind!
  4. Whether you’d like Air Mail (cheap, no tracking) or EMS (more expensive, tracking). It’s very hard for us to make multiple trips to the post office for estimates, so if you’d like some advice, please let us know.

We will then reply as soon as we can with a total and payment instructions.

Smartphone link is here.

w-inds. worldwide 2nd Anniversary MOVE LIKE THIS giveaway!

Published on July 4, 2012, by in Uncategorized.

In celebration of our 2nd year and w-inds.’ new album “MOVE LIKE THIS”, we would like to give away a copy of the limited edition version of the album to a lucky international fan as a way to thank you for your support.

Due to fans being scattered across the globe, time zones have made it difficult to include everyone in our contests and previous giveaways.

This time we think we found a way that will work!

Please e-mail your name and country to giveaway@windsworldwide.com by July 9th, 2012 (12:00am Honolulu Time). After the deadline has passed, we will assess the total number of e-mails and use a random number generator to choose the winner.

The giveaway has already finished! Thanks to all participants!

About the Ameba Studio Premium Broadcast

Published on June 24, 2012, by in Uncategorized.

On 7/2, w-inds. will appear on a show on Ameba Studio from 21:00-22:00 Japan time. After that, from 22:15 Japan time, w-inds. will have a “premium broadcast” on Ameba Studio.

During the premium broadcast, they will react to your comments and answer some questions. Please note that these is limited space in the premium broadcast, so it will be first come first served.

To participate in the broadcast, you need to buy “Ame Points.” You can only buy these with Ameba’s currency “Ame Gold” so you first need to buy Ame Gold.

1. First, you must have an Ameba account. You can sign up at Ameba.jp.

2. Then, go to this page to look at the options for buying Ame Gold. There are many options for how to pay, but some overseas fans have had luck with the credit card and Rakuten options, so check them out.

3. How much Ame Gold should you buy? This is a hard question. 1 Ame Gold = 1 Ame Point, and 50 Ame Points = 1 minute of premium viewing, so 500 yen would buy you 10 minutes. There is no information for how long the broadcast will be, so just use your judgement.

4. After buying the Gold, you can go to Ameba Studio’s site here and login with your Ameba information. You must click 同意する when prompted — this means you agree to link your Ameba account to Ameba Studio.

5. From there, you can click the big green button that has the picture of AmeG turning into AmeP (link here) in order to change your Ame Gold to Ame Points. Choose the amount, and then click the green ポイントを交換 button.

This is a difficult process, so if you have any questions, or get any weird errors, please ask and we will try our best to help. However, we are not experts at Ameba and this is very new to us as well, so we ask for your patience and understanding. Thank you!

w-inds. worldwide tweede verjaardagsproject: Filmpjes

Published on June 14, 2012, by in project.

Hello, w-inds.! [Hallo w-inds.!]
Please come to [Kom alsjeblieft naar] (de naam van het land)!
Bye/Love you/See you [Doei/We houden van jullie/tot ziens!]
